Triumph Tiger Sport

Triumph Tiger 1050 Sport

My first adventure bike, of course I had to get a lowered seat so I could touch the floor. I think I got different bones for the rear suspension too, so that would be doubly lowered.

It’s funny because I can’t remember much about this bike, I know it was really nice to ride and that it had a problem with starting if you stopped briefly during a ride, like for petrol for example. It would act as though the battery was flat so obviously it would not start. Leave it for 30 minutes and it would be fine again. I took it back to Bevans Triumph and they kept it for a month changing various parts to try and get to the bottom of it.

I had a nice little Triumph Speed Twin on loan while I was waiting for the repairs, very nice little ride. Only problem was, because it’s a retro bike it would attract men of a certain age who would have to tell you about the Triumph they had when they were young men back in the 1950’s

To fix the started/battery issue all Bevans needed to do was read the forums, it seems it’s down to the starter motor wires being a bit too skinny. Beef them up and the problem goes away.

And we went to France 🙂

I’m struggling to remember if I had panniers and if not how did I carry everything. I think I had a cheap Chinese seat bag that I strapped everything to.
