Nissan 300ZX

Nissan 300ZX

I had this for free off my good friend and ex cousin by marriage Simon.

It had sat on his driveway for a good few years and had seen better days, but I thought it might be a good project for Liam and me.

So we went up his house armed with a tyre pump and a fully charged battery. Typical Japanese it fired up straight away, the tyre inflated and despite being a bit squared off they held the air. So I tentatively drove it home, the brakes were shocking and it bounced like a kangaroo on the worn out shocks.

I ordered what parts I needed second hand online and got it to a state where I could get it to an MOT station, the failure list ran into 3 pages.

So Gwyn welded the chassis, I bodged up the exhaust and repaired all the other things, drove it back for a retest…it passed.

We drove it around quite a bit, even taking it to Guernsey for a trip on the ferry. Eventually the engine blew on the way to visit my parents in their caravan in Ledbury. The kind man from the RAC eventually turned up and transported us home.

I sold the car on Ebay for £300.
