Loved this one too.
Apparently this was one of the first, if not the first 2.0D sold in the UK, not too sure if this is just a myth or not though.
This one had the intercooler breather vent thing on the bonnet, later ones didn’t have this for some reason, I think it improved the looks. Quite a bland looking car but a great drive, sophisticated four wheel drive system and good electronics in the cab.
I could drive all day and get out at the other end feeling like I’d only driven round the block. It got sold after 3 years with 160,000 miles on the clock.
I had a towbar fitted so I could tow my caravan behind it which it did with ease.
